Welcome from the Head of Middle School!
There is an abundance of energy that is contagious in the locker bays, hallways and classrooms of ESJ when the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students are there. I have visited the classrooms of our Middle School students and teachers, and I find that it makes me want to be a Middle School student again.
The opportunities available to our students make for a busy day. In addition to the traditional subjects of English, math, science, history and language, our students can choose to take dance, music, visual art, drama, computer, band, science research or mathletics. The variety of courses offered helps prepare them to make the best choices for themselves when they embark on their academic career in Upper School.
Students are also actively involved in Chapel, sports, and fine arts during and after school. It is on this foundation that I know our students will build their love of learning and carry with them for life.
Our Middle School provides many opportunities to interact with Upper School, and Upper Schoolers serve as role models academically, spiritually and athletically.
Every day I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the Middle School students and faculty.
