Yes. Students are required to wear school uniforms.

Does Episcopal award scholarships for athletic or artistic talent?

No. The Florida High School Athletic Association, which governs our interscholastic athletic programs, specifically forbids scholarships for athletic reasons. However, Episcopal does offer need-based financial aid for qualifying students.

Is there a certain grade you need to make on the entrance test to be offered admission?

No. Testing is very important, but the admissions committee takes into consideration all aspects of a student's performance. Typically, however, students who are successful at Episcopal score well above the national average on nationally-normed standardized tests.

What are your school hours?

Each day begins with an optional tutorial/activities period from 7:45 to 8:10 a.m. The day officially begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 3:05 p.m.

Episcopal is proud of its tradition of 100% college placement for its graduates. Recent graduates are attending highly competitive schools such as Duke, Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, Washington & Lee, Wake Forest, the University of Virginia, Harvard, and other Ivy League schools as well. In addition, because of Bright Futures Scholarship opportunities, a number of our students attend in-state schools such as the University of Florida.

Does Episcopal provide transportation for its students?

No. However, there is a private company, which does transport students from the Ponte Vedra Beach area and many students carpool to school.

Absolutely! We are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS), the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) and the Episcopal Board of Regents.

Can students interested in Episcopal visit classes?

Yes. You may contact the Admissions Office to schedule a full-day or half-day visit. When you arrive, you will be assigned to a host or hostess who will take you to classes and to lunch. Campus tours are also available for students and parents by appointment.

Yes. All of our instructors have a degree in the subject in which they teach, and most of our intructors have advanced degrees.

Is there any separation between the Middle School and the Upper School?

Yes. The Middle School has its own wing on campus, the G wing, which houses Middle School student lockers and the Middle School administration. In addition, Middle School students have their own Chapel service, lunch period, physical education course, student government, and social events.

We offer a variety of elective courses for middle school students including Dance, Theater, Instrumental Ensemble, Art, Bible I & II, Music, Computer, and Technology.

What Advanced Placement courses do you offer?

We offer Advanced Placement (AP) courses for each subject. Our AP English courses include Language and Composition. Our AP History courses include European History, United States History, Art History, and Government. The AP Mathematics courses available for students are Calculus and Statistics. Our AP Science courses are Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science. The AP Art courses available to students are Ceramics, Photography, and Studio Art. We also offer AP World Language courses and an AP Computer course.

Our athletic programs include Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Crew, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, Weight Lifting, and Wrestling.

What is the religious requirement? Must all students attend Chapel?

While Episcopal proudly accepts students of all religions, everyone must attend Chapel. The religious course requirements include 2 nine-week Bible classes for middle school students, and 2 semester-long theology courses for upper school students.

What are lunches like? Can students bring their own lunch?

There is a wide variety of options for students at lunch. Students may choose from the salad bar, sandwiches, soup, and/or a hot entree of which there are always 2 to choose from. Students may also bring their own lunch if desired.

What is the Advisor Program like?

Each student will be given an advisor with whom they meet every day, with the exception of Wednesday. Students and advisors typically develop a great relationship. Advisors can assist students with a variety of issues. Please note that school advisors are separate from college advisors.

Who do I contact if my child is having a problem?

First, contact the student's advisor. The second point of contact would be the school counselor. We do have counselors for both Middle School and Upper School.

Are there opportunities for parents to get involved at the School?

Yes. In fact, we encourage parental involvement. These opportunities include, but are not limited to, Boosters, Fine Arts Nurturing Students (FANS), Athletic programs as a team parent, and the Episcopal Parents' Association.

We are 11% ethnically diverse and over 20% of our students receive need-based financial aid.

What are your feeder schools?

A
Our feeder schools are Riverside Presbyterian Day School, Jacksonville Country Day School, St. Mark's Episcopal Day School, Beaches Episcopal Day School, and San Jose Episcopal Day School. Students currently enrolled in our feeder schools are given priority for seventh-grade admission.

What after-school programs do you offer?

We offer athletic programs, fine arts, and an after school directed study (ASDS) which is an after-school study hall for students whose parents cannot pick them up at 3:05 p.m. The Library remains open until 6:00 p.m. ASDS is offered free of charge.
