Instrumental Ensemble

Students at Episcopal have the opportunity to take classes in a variety of fine arts disciplines, many of which involve music. Whether students are interested in participating in an instrumental or jazz ensemble, taking a music-production class, exploring music theory or history, or joining Drumline or Guitar Club, Episcopal's Fine Arts Department can satisfy their interests.

Opportunities in music at Episcopal include:

  • Instrumental ensemble classes, which explore techniques and allow students the chance to participate in an ensemble and to hone performance skills.
  • Music production classes, which give students a taste of computer-based recording, using the 'Pro Tools' program, allowing them to write and record their own music in a variety of styles.
  • An AP Music Theory course, designed for musicians who plan to pursue the study of music in college
  • A music history course, which focuses on the development of music in the Western tradition; students will better understand the relationship between musical and cultural development.
  • The Jazz Ensemble, which is a group that serves students with the opportunity to learn about contemporary and traditional musical techniques and hone performance skills.
  • Drumline, which creates and performs percussion cadences using drums and cymbals; this group performs for special School events and during sporting events.
  • The Guitar and Drumming Clubs are groups of students who meet to trade musical ideas and play together in the spirit of musical community.
  • Contemporart music ensemble for those students who wish to explore playing in a group while exploring the acoustic and electric sounds of today.
