Episcopal School of Jacksonville

Elected every spring for the upcoming school year, Senate members are chosen by their peers after given approval to run for an office. Students must have recommendations from two teachers or a class advisor, as well as sign an agreement affirming their commitment to their position. Student Senate leaders are very involved in many aspects of school life. The Student Senate plans school-wide Unity Days, which help build community on campus while exploring ways to better school life. In addition, almost every student on the Senate participates in a sport at ESJ. Almost all are involved in multiple volunteer organizations and clubs at Episcopal, and volunteer often in the Jacksonville community.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Senate President must be a senior; Senate Vice President a junior; Senate Secretary, a sophomore
Number of Senators per grade: 12th - two; 11th - three; 10th - one; 9th - one.
Each elected officer must be committed to attend Senate Camp on ON CAMPUS at the end of the summer.

POSTERS

Posters that are in good taste and fashion may be displayed. Posters may be posted in the Buck Student Center ONLY. There is a limit of five posters per candidate. Handouts, banners, gum, candy, or stickers are NOT allowed. After the election, each candidate will be expected to remove all posters and clean up any of his or her campaign literature immediately.
