25th Anniversary Freshmen Orientation Adventure Begins Today

Wednesday, Aug. 16 morning update – The entire freshmen class, junior and senior counselors, and faculty members are in North Georgia this week on the 25th Freshman Orientation Adventure.  Students and teachers are celebrating the anniversary with special shirts, gifts and desserts.  Although some of the trip details have changed over the decades, much of the trip itinerary and structure remains the same.  Under the caring supervision of the group counselors, the campers learn interesting facts about plants, animals and the environment, raft the Chattooga River, hike muddy trails and make s’mores at the campfire.  Without technology at their fingertips, the students make new friends, learn more about themselves and develop a deeper relationship with God. “It is no wonder that alumni continue to name the trip as one of the most meaningful experiences during their years at Episcopal,” said Marion Zeiner, ESJ’s Director of Scientific Research and trip director.
