RE: Field trip to the Kennedy Space Center
WHEN: Friday, February 9, 2018

We have an exciting field trip planned for your 7th grade student on Friday, February 9, 2018 to visit the Kennedy Space Center. While there, students will tour the Saturn V Center, which focuses on the Apollo missions; and the newer Atlantis Experience, where students can learn about the development and implementation of the Shuttle Missions. Also, they have the opportunity to ride the “Launch Experience”, a space shuttle launch simulator. The cost of the trip includes transportation by coach, lunch, and admission to the Kennedy Space Center. Students will be placed in small groups and chaperoned by their middle school instructors. Below is an outline of the schedule for the day:

5:45 a.m. Arrive at the Upper School Drop-off and check-in at assigned bus
6:00 a.m. Departure from Upper School Drop-off
8:30 a.m. Check-in at Kennedy Space Center
9:00 a.m. – 3:15 pm Exploration of Kennedy Space Center Exhibits
3:30 p.m. Load Buses
3:45 p.m. Departure
6:30 p.m. Estimated Arrival at ESJ

Students will not need money for lunch while at the Kennedy Space Center, but they may choose to bring money for additional snacks or for the purchase of any souvenirs.

The cost for this trip is $75.00 and has been collected either through the Incidental Plan or billed by the Business Office.

We are looking forward to this experience for our 7th grade students that utilizes the outstanding resources available at Kennedy Space Center and provides onsite demonstrations to support our curriculum.
