Seniors – College Application Camp is August 11
Seniors – This is a reminder for College Application Camp on Saturday, August 11. We host two sessions: one from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., and another from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. You may attend in the morning, the afternoon, or both. This is a great way to get a head start on your applications before your schoolwork really kicks in. During Application Camp, we will discuss all of the basic procedures for applying to college, the Common App, the Coalition App, your essays, teacher recommendations, college visits, applying for financial aid, Florida Bright Futures scholarship money, taking the SAT and ACT, NCAA registration for athletes, and more.
Please make sure to bring any usernames and passwords you have for Naviance, the College Board, the Common Application, etc. Also please bring your SSN, and your parents’ FL residency information (Driver’s license, etc.). You will need this for Florida Bright Futures registration and to document Florida residency when you apply to an in-state school.
Please bring your own laptop or iPad. There may be a few school computers to use.
Check in at the Campion Courtyard between Parks and Lastinger at either 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. on the 11th. Ms. Rizzi’s advisees will be in L201, Ms. Carter’s in L202, and Mr. Riggs’ in L203. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact your college counselor at any time.
This has become an important annual event for seniors. In the past few years, over 85-90% of the senior class has attended Application Camp. We all look forward to seeing you on August 11.
