Second “A Vision for Art” Event A Success!
The second annual A Vision for Art was held Friday, April 16 – Sunday, April 18, in the Lori Schiavone Commons on the St. Mark’s Campus. This three day event gave hundreds of patrons from the greater Jacksonville area and across the country the opportunity to purchase fine art and support the school. Over 100 artists expressed interest in being selected for the 41 featured gallery spaces.
To kick-off the A Vision for Art weekend, the Patron Preview Reception and the Opening Night Celebration was held on Friday, April 16, with approximately 250 guests in attendance. The Lori Schiavone Commons was magically transformed into a fabulous art gallery and an elegant dinner under the party lights of the tent was catered by Chef’s Garden.
Over 120 pieces of artwork were sold to support continued enhancements of Episcopal School of Jacksonville, St. Mark’s Campus’ fine arts programs and strategic projects. More importantly, A Vision for Art brought a diverse group of individuals from various age groups, ethnicities, communities, cities, and states to campus.
A very special thank you to the title sponsors, Joan and Preston Haskell, for their continued faith and support of this event. This event would also not have been possible without the vision and dedication of St. Mark’s Campus Art Teacher, Bebe Alexander. Committee members included Claudia Adams, Caroline Pope, Marieka Richards, and Melissa Vogt.
On behalf of the students, faculty, staff, and volunteer committee, we want to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and everyone who visited A Vision for Art. Your support reflects the belief in the education of our future leaders and your faith in our wonderful school.
