Marin Flint Named Leo C. Burgman Chair of English

The Leo C. Burgman Chair in English was awarded to longtime teacher Marin Flint this morning, recognizing her teaching mastery in the subject of English. Previously held by teachers Billy Valentine and Marta Pauly, the Burgman Chair receives a cash stipend and an actual Episcopal chair. A committee met to establish a new term of three years for the holder of the Leo C. Burgman Chair in English. In this way, the school can more regularly recognize the excellence of its English teachers. Established in 1997 through a gift from the late Jim and Mary Winston, and their daughter McKimmon “Kimmie” Winston Mason, Class of 1975, this chair honors the memory of Kimmie’s grandfather, Leo C. Burgman. Jim Winston served the school as a member of the Board of Trustees and the Foundation Board and was named a Trustee Emeritus for his dedication to the school. Marin Flint has been teaching English at Episcopal since 1990.
