Associate Director of College Counseling
Julie Carter joined Episcopal in 2017 after seven years in college counseling at Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa. Mrs. Carter began her career in college admissions at the University of North Florida, where she spent ten years and earned her master’s degree in educational leadership. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida in communications and public relations. She currently serves on the Counselor Advisory Boards at Florida Southern College and the University of Georgia. She is a member of NACAC, SACAC, and ACCIS, professional college counseling associations.
Director of College Counseling
Ryan Riggs began teaching history at Episcopal in 1994 and became the Dean of Students in 2000. He moved to the college counseling office in 2004, and became Director of College Counseling in 2008. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, his master’s degree from the University of Richmond, and his MBA from the University of Florida. He is a member of NACAC, SACAC, and ACCIS. Riggs currently serves on the board of SACAC, and helps run the SACAC Summer Seminar, a week-long program that trains new college counselors. He has served on admissions advisory boards at the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, University of South Carolina, and Birmingham-Southern College.
