ESJ partners with several different groups and associations to fulfill the goals and objectives of our Mission Trips. We currently offer Mission Trips in connection with Youth Works. In 2019, students experienced parts of Puerto Rico while painting houses, doing yard work, and worshiping alongside students from other parts of the U.S. One of the highlights of the past few years has been our Mission Trip to a Native American Reservation. Students loved working on houses and playing with children as they taught them about Jesus and the Bible.  In the past we have also partnered with a ministry in Haiti and a ministry called Project Ruth (projectruth.ro), located in Bucharest, Romania.

ESJ 2022 Mission Trip: South Border of Texas

The Rev. Teresa Seagle, Rev. Andy Farmer, Ms. Carolyn Tuttle, and The Rev. Chris Dell, will be leading a mission trip to South Texas from June 19, 2022, to June 25, 2022, working with YouthWorks (youthworks.com) to support immigrants and immigrant ministries.  We will partner with local organizations, including Border Perspectives, to better understand the complexity of immigration on the border.

We will serve at a local immigrant shelter alongside immigrant pastors and their congregations.  These opportunities will be eye-opening and will give us a first-hand look at ministry alongside immigrant communities.

Work may entail cleaning, painting, yard work, and repairing houses and schools. In addition, we hope to work with children at a local shelter.  Our days will include morning and evening devotionals as well as worship experiences with the residents. We will know our specific itinerary relative to their needs as we get closer to our departure date.
