Golf Program

Episcopal is one of the few schools in Northeast Florida that is led by PGA Golf Professionals and also offers boys’ and girls’ developmental Junior Varsity teams. ESJ’s Boys and Girls Varsity Golf routinely compete for district, regional, and state championships. In 2016, the boy's golf team finished in a tie for fourth place in the state tournament. Many former ESJ golfers have gone on to compete at the collegiate and professional level on various platforms. Our most notable alumni is the former number one ranked player in the world and PGA Tour Member David Duval. The program is under the direction of Head Boys Golf Coach Mark Tutor and Head Girls Golf Coach Thelma Ewell.

About the Coaches

Mark Tutor is the Head Boys Varsity Golf Coach. Prior to joining the Eagles, Coach Tutor was involved with player development for 10 years. He has been a PGA member for 21 years. He is the former director of golf at both Grand Haven Golf Club and North Hampton Golf Club. In the 2014-2015 season, Mark won the Senior Choice Coach’s Award at ESJ. Coach Tutor has said that “coaching and teaching the game of golf at ESJ is a wonderful blessing. Golf is an individual sport that can be played for a lifetime and teaches so many life skills along the way. Playing as a part of a high school golf team is an experience that the players will never forget and will create fond memories of team, sportsmanship and competition.”
