The Episcopal Weightlifting team consists of athletes from ninth through twelfth grades. The program practices in the new Jangro Stadium complex. The team is led by Program Director and Strength & Conditioning Coach DaShaun Gibbons. In 2020, Episcopal’s second weightlifting team member in program history signed to compete at the collegiate level. The program continues to grow each year.
About the Coach
DaShaun Gibbons is in his third year of coaching. Coach Gibbons began his time at Episcopal in 2016. He was the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Program Director and Assistant Weightlifting Program Director from the summer of 2017 to the end of the 2017-2018 school year. He is now the Director of Strength & Conditioning. Before joining Episcopal, Coach Gibbons was an intern strength coach for Jacksonville University, where he also held a coaching position. He has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of North Florida and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
