Director of Safety and Security

Episcopal's care and concern for its students means that assessment of campus safety and security is ongoing. Through professional development for faculty and staff as well as the presence of physical (seen and unseen) measures, Episcopal routinely reviews and updates campus security policies and procedures. We do not publicly disclose many of our security measures in order to maintain the highest level of safety. In addition:

  • In 2018 the school implemented a Health, Safety, and Well-Being program that seeks to ensure the culture of the school is caring, understanding and supportive. The initiative provides comprehensive programming about all aspects of physical and mental health.
  • Pastoral care, as well as care from professionals in the Student Services offices, is available to students, faculty, and staff.
  • The school has a visible campus patrol.
  • Armed officers are on campus at all times while school is in session.
  • Blue Light Emergency call buttons located around campus immediately contact security.
  • Access to campus during the day is limited.
  • An anonymous reporting system is available for parents, faculty and students.
  • A security camera system helps to monitor both the Munnerlyn and Knight campuses.
  • Episcopal has an outstanding relationship with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. JSO has a daily presence on campus, with a marked patrol unit available for any activities or events.
  • The school conducts unannounced drills for fire, lockdown, and weather.
